A logic gate performs a logical operation on one or more logic inputs and produces a single logic output. The logic normally performed is Boolean logic and is most commonly found in digital circuits. Logic gates are primarily implemented electronically using diodes or transistors, but can also be constructed using electromagnetic relays, fluidics, optical or even mechanical elements.

Logic gates are the building blocks of digital circuits. Combinations of logic gates build successively more complicated circuits for specific tasks. For example, logic gates are combined to add binary numbers (adders), set and reset bits of memory (flip flops), multiplex multiple inputs, and so forth, and these higher level circuits in turn eventually comprise the heart of computers and all digital systems.
Some basic logic gates are:
The NOT gate, also known as an inverter,
The AND gate, which requires two inputs and has one output. The AND gate only produces an output of 1 when BOTH the inputs are a 1, otherwise the output is 0.
The OR gate, which has two input lines and one output line. If either or both of the inputs are a 1, the resulting output value is a 1, else a 0
The XOR gate (the X stands for "exclusive.") This means that the output from this gate will be a 1 ONLY when one or the other of the inputs is a 1.
An example of a simple, functional digital circuit built from two logic gates is the Half Adder, which adds two one-bit binary numbers (AB). The output is the sum of the two bits (S) and the carry (C).
A simple model of how a bit of RAM can be perpetuated is the SR (Set-Reset) Flip Flop. This Flip Flop uses two logic gates to maintain a stable output even after the inputs are turned off. This simple circuit has a set input (S) and a reset input (R). The set input causes an output of 0 and 1. The reset input causes the opposite to happen The outputs are maintained until S or R go high, or power is turned off.

i mean i have seen people who has won awards and promotion after a few months in their Job. and i didn't get any of those , so how else can I upgrade my Job experience ? ? ?

I remember working at my uncles shop ( as an electronics technician ) for a year around 8 years ago
these were my job duties
I had to read and interpret mechanical, optical, and electrical specifications.I used multi-meters, digital oscilloscopes, DVM and function generators
I tested analog and digital circuits and generated test reports in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
These are the job descriptions that I could put in words.
But i can't remember why i was testing , reading and measuring all these voltages and so on and so forth .
I dn't know if he was an evil genius working on world domination or if he was working on a project that relates to world domination ?
the bad thing is that i need to add this to my resume ,and i wanna write what was it that i was working "ON" .
what do you think , in your mind , was I working on ?
any help would make me glad .

My local AT&T branch informed me that they use the uncommon 850 mhz, and I just bought a tri-band nokia off ebay (one that is not offered by at&t). According to the auction, it was "brand new" but I have doubts about that. The phone looks about 96% brand new, but the battery is a little, well, misshapen and worn. I charged it with the AC charger until it said "battery full", now I can send and receive texts but when I try to make or receive a call, it immediately says "battery empty" and shuts down. I'm not a digital circuits expert but this sounds more like a battery or phone problem. Or is there a possibility that it's not compatible with my cellular network?

I soldered a little DIY kit for a "take-home-exam" for my digital circuits class. It is basically oscillator building blocks lighting LEDs in a astable, monostable, and bistable configurations.
It's not working. I have followed the instructions regarding the flying leads and set, trigger, and reset poles. And I have solder the right components into the correct places.
I am not an expert solderer by any means, and there is a clear "residue" around most of my solder joints.
I'm thinking this may be the problem. If so, I have copper solder wick as my only means of removal.
Are there any other common soldering mistakes I could have made?
None of the joints actually touch each other with visible silver solder, only the clear "coating/residue" I mentioned above.
And every solder has been meticulously shaped in the desirable "hershey kiss" shape.
What could be wrong? None of my LEDs are lighting when I touch the flying leads to the poles!

I know there are levels of programming,
Like Visual Basic then Assembly then Machine language; Now as far as I know Machine language is a combination of 1s and 0s, or in other words ONs and OFFs; Hence that, why do we have to interpret Machine language into a more simple code such as ISA ( Intsruction Set Architecture ) then Microarchitecture, Isn`t OFFs and ONs language simple enough to be executed on digital circuits?
and I have an another question What is Microarchictecture in simple words? is it just like any language? like ISA, Assembly, Visual Basic? or is it more related to hardware that when you say the term "Microarchitecture" you mean a specific system or concept or something like that?
On the other hand, I have a question that have always confused me, and I wanted to know the answer since LONG time ago, The question is how is my name for example "Selpak", How is it represented as "electrons" on any storage device - lets say the hard disk of computers- ? {I`m not talking about bytes, I`m talk in terms of electrons, And I`m shooting to know how different data varies in terms of electrons to see how does it really work}

I don't want this information to like jump out of the cover letter, but i want it to have an impact on the employer or the person reading the cover letter so he'll think , ok i think I will give him a call ,

i am trying to get an Entry level electrical engineer job asap . But i am having trouble with my job experience section here. because eventhough it says that i have experience , it doesn't really say i did anything worthwhile ( like a promotion ,or an award or anything or that sort ) ....
