Ok. A little background - I'm a doctor. I'm trying to understand the basic principles of nuclear magnetic resonance (as the principle behind MRI) - just because I'm curious... I have some knowledge of physics to first year college level.
I'm being a bit lazy by not getting out a textbook and trying to understand this from various sites around the internet...
However, I'm having a fundamental failure of comprehension.
My (simplistic) understanding is that spin is a quantum mechanical property, i.e. discrete.
So for protons for example, it is either 1/2 or -1/2. The energy levels associated with each spin state are degenerate until a magnetic field is applied at which point one becomes higher level than the other. There is a population bias toward the lower energy state. Application of an RF radiation pulse at the Larmor frequency will shift a proportion of these protons into the higher energy state from which they eventually relax into the equilibrium state.

My last question i asked got a very nice response that helped me alot with the other questions like it, for this one Domains and ranges have always eluded me, just something I haven't been able to figure out, this here is a very basic one but i still can't 100% figure it out! On a graphing calc I can see what sqrt(x) is, but how do I figure out the domain and range of that and the inverse of it? Any help would be mucho appreciated!
The full question is:
let f(x) = sqrt(x)
Sketch F and F-1(inverse) on the same coordinate plane
Stage the Df(Domain) and Rf(range)

I'm having trouble hooking up my DVD player. I have a RF Modulator and an Audio/Video Modulator for my PS2. I hooked my DVD player up like my previous VCR was hooked up and it came on fine and played the DVD fine. But my problem is that the DVD player has the capability of recording from my TV. I tried to set it up but it only took like 6 of the channels I have and they are all snowy when you watch them through the DVD player. My question is how do I set the DVD player up so I can record from the TV and still keep my PS2 hooked up and still be able to watch DVD's?
BTW I have basic cable, no cable box and my TV is a Sanyo and the DVD player is a Sony.

Apple was founded on April 1, 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne[10] (and later incorporated January 3, 1977[3] without Wayne, who sold his share of the company back to Jobs and Wozniak) to sell the Apple I personal computer kit. They were hand-built by Steve Wozniak[11][12] in the living room of Jobs' parents' home, and the Apple I was first shown to the public at the Homebrew Computer Club.[13] Eventually 200 computers were built. The Apple I was sold as a motherboard (with CPU, RAM, and basic textual-video chips) — not what is today considered a complete personal computer.[14] The user was required to provide two different AC input voltages (the manual recommended specific transformers), wire an ASCII keyboard (not provided with the computer) to a DIP connector (providing logic inverter and alpha lock chips in some cases), and to wire the video output pins to a monitor or to an RF modulator if a TV set was used.
The company introduced the Apple II microcomputer in 1977. A few years later, in 1983, it introduced the Lisa, the first commercial personal computer to employ a graphical user interface (GUI), which was influenced in part by the Xerox Alto. Lisa was also the first personal computer to have the mouse. In 1984, the Macintosh was introduced, which arguably advanced the concept of a new user-friendly graphical user interface. Apple's success with the Macintosh became a major influence in the development of graphical interfaces elsewhere, with major computer operating systems, such as the Commodore Amiga, and Atari ST, appearing on the market within two years of the introduction of the Macintosh

We just dropped down to Comcast basic cable and removed the cable box. Now we've ran into a snag. There's no coaxial input on the plasma we own. We've tried to use an RF Modulator by connecting the coaxial to it then RCA'a out to the TV, but no luck. Any suggestions other than a re- upgrading?

I am a first buyer for a sewing machine and I'm overwelmed by the selection out there. I went to a store and the attendent told me the more expensive the better! Is that really true? I want to start with basic projects like pillow cases, hemming pants ect. Do I really have to spend so much money or is a sewing machine for about $130 good enough? Which product should I chose? Is the Brother CE4000 RF a good machine? Thank you for your help.

I have yet to replace my old VHS recorder. I now want to record the occasional program or movie from my cable TV service to HD and/or to DVDs. What basic stand-alone machine can I buy?
I am computer literate and have used an external TV tuner box for my PC so I know how to view and record (and burn) via my PC, but it's fiddly and I want something simple that stays connected to my Panasonic TV with RCA connectors, and RF coax to cable.
It would be nice to be able to watch one channel while recording another.
Do these recording machines come with internal HD storage only, or do some also have a DVD/VCD writer built in? Is there a big difference in cost? I have a limited budget for this.
Can Hard Drive only machines be output to a PC for later disk burning?
Note that the country I'm in uses the PAL broadcast system (not NTSC).
Thanks for any specific or general advice on this topic.

I am looking to buy a new pc tuner card for my comptuer. I don't want to spend alot of money. It needs to be able to pick up digital cable channels and have a digital program guide. It aslo needs to have TiVo features (pause/rewind live tv, timer recording etc.) Additionaly i want it to have a fm radio tuner (and perferablely a hd radio tuner). I live in a rural area where there aren't alot of radio stations around so it has to to get good reception. It needs to be able to record from the radio as well. It needs to have an RF remote. The remoted doesn't have to be too fancy if i can perform basic tv functions and control my media programs i will be happy. If a tuner card does not come with a recording feature, are there freeware programs that will alow me to record from it? The interface on the card can be either pci or pci x1. try to provide links if possible.

2 wiimotes + 1 nunchuck
1 wiimotes + 2 nunchuck
one of each
two of each
The descriptions contradicts whats shown.
If is standard that you get one of each in a basic package then what does this bundle consist of? It says it comes with a remote and extra nunchuck but the box clearly shows a wiimote (zoomed)- http://nintenblog.free.fr/images/2006/wi...
Or maybe this site does NOT supply controllers and nunchucks as standard??? for example- http://www.littlewoodsdirect.com/rf/lxd/...
huh wt... it's driving me up the wall, I've posted this question three times in different ways and no one knows! Full points for a CORECT answer!!!

I have a 1994 Dodge intrepid, and I make no payments on it, all i pay for it is insurance and gas. I am a high school student making $7 an hour and i hardly get 15 hours a week, when i try and push every shift for an extra hour or so.. Every shift I try to stay as late as possible, and im always picking up shifts for co-workers, and with all that work, I still only end up with at most $230 for two weeks. I pay for my own basic necessities (food, clothes, personal hygiene products, etc) while I am also trying to save money for a good laptop before I go to college, and I plan to move out of the house in about a year (by then I will get to work more since I wont be in school)
Until recently my intrepid has done what it needed to do.
here is what is wrong with my car
-extremely loose tie rods
-grommets missing
-in need of an alignment
-new fuses for my horn/radio
-new battery (corroded)
-new belts (they're really badly cracked & frayed)
-the brake fluid is at 100ppm when it is required to be at at at least 200ppm
-really really really really loose steering
-has been over 50,000 on the same shocks & struts
-exhaust system leaking
-engine fluid leaks
-slow leak in RF tire
-need two more tires (^^ including above)
My sister was the one that had the car before me, and didn't do preventive maintenance on it at all, and only changed the oil when it absolutely needed it, instead of after ever 3,000 miles.
The cost to replace the tie rods & get a new grommet would cost me $436.61 (mainly because of the time it would take to replace it)
That does NOT include the other replacements that are obviously needed. and.. clearly, i cannot afford this sort of maintenance until after about two months. I have a cell phone bill, insurance, and basic necessities to pay for first, so that is why it would take me that long (at the very least).. and i cant go without it, and I made an agreement with my parents that i would take care of everything myself aside from rent/gas/electric/water once I got a job, and I absolutely refuse to ask my parents to help, because I would have to pay them back, and I don't know how long that would take me, and I hate the feeling of owing someone money, I have always been very good with paying people back because of that. I hate it! Also, Especially with how the economy is going, I want to be able to learn on my own how to deal with saving money without asking others for help, I want to do this on my own!
Now, that you know that ^^ here are the choices.
- I can either, take advantage of all the specials that car dealerships are presenting because they are desperate for sales, and get a much newer car that would only need maintenance checks and oil changes for a while, or - spend another 1,000 on the car I have now. After graduation in December.. I graduate early, ( I am guaranteed a waitress job for day shift) I can make enough to pay from the job i have now for the basic needs, and then my serving job to pay off the car within a reasonable amount of time.
I was looking at getting either some sort of KIA or an 05-07 chevy cobalt
Which, in the long run, do you think would be a smarter choice?(what would save me the most money, I plan on keep this car, whichever it turns out to be, for a very long time)
If you say keep my current car, what ways can i go about saving money on the costs, and how could i get it done in a faster process
If you say go with getting a newer car, What car would be best for me? I need something cheap, but obviously more reliable than my 14-year-old dodge. Also, it needs to have good gas mileage!
Thank you so much for all of your answers!!

My set up is like this: AV cords from tivo to the tv, Coaxial cable from the wall to the in position of RF splitter, coaxial cable from the tivo to the out position of RF splitter, coaxial cable from the motorola interactive digital communication cable box to the ou in the RF splitter. Now the problem is that the screen has a choppy picture or snowy picture on some screens and on MOST of the other channels it says:"searching for signal on: Basic Cable in"...Any suggestions??? TIps??? Please Help! Thank you in advance

Hello
i was just wondering about what type of dress i should wear to prom, ok here are my basics... i am quite short (5 foot 2 ish) and im sporty so i overal have a thin build but i have a tummy haha duno why so i dont think dresses that are tight round the chest and then hang are good cos just exentuates it. i dunno kinda of corsety type i think is best to minimize ot sure though haha..i have blue eyes and blue is my favourite colour and navy. i have quite a crazy personality so something very colourful might be suitable, but i thinki will end up with black in the end because slimming and easy and simple you know? http://www.asos.com/Woman/Dresses/Cat/pg... if there are any dresses on there you think sorry this is very vague..
but with my body shape do you know what shape dress i should go for?? and length i dont want anything really long you know modern.. thankyou! !
